A crowdfunding campaign was launched after Prince Harrys bombshell admission that the Royal Family financially cut him off.

The GoFundMe is hoping to raise a casual US$10 million (£7m) to help him pay for their mega mansion.

Anastasia Hanson, who is from California, started the campaign and titled it Harry and Meghan $5 Donation to Buy Home.

Despite Hanson claiming the campaign was not a joke, it was soon shut down after raising just US$110 (£79) for the bizarre cause.

Prior to being shut down, the campaigns description read: I am raising funds to pay off the mortgage for the Montecito, California home of Harry and Meghan.

When they came to the USA they were without jobs and with limited funds.

Theyve stated that theyve had a very rough time, so this fundraiser is a way to give help, compassion, and love by paying their home loan in full.

I personally relate to mental health, racial equality, diversity, and inclusivity. They both support these issues as well. Together, they can help bring healing and restoration to the whole world.

Hanson told The Sun of starting the GoFundMe: I like to help people and help them in any way I can.

That gives me happiness. If you needed a home, Id do the same for you. Its a good deed.

Harry and Meghan purchased their mansion in Santa Barbara, California, which is said to be worth US$14.7 million (£10.5m). Variety reported that the couple took out a US$9.5 million (£6.8m) mortgage to pay for the property.

During the couples interview with Oprah, which has since subsequently sent the Royal Family into PR damage control, Harry revealed they had literally cut me off financially in the first quarter of 2020.

Harry added that he had been forced to use Princess Dianas inheritance, estimated to be around £10 million, to pay for security to protect his family.

Ive got what my mum left me, and without that, we would not have been able to do this, he said to Oprah.

During Covid, the suggestion by a friend was, What about streamers?, Harry continued, while Meghan added: We genuinely hadnt thought about it before.

Harry told Oprah: So, there were all sorts of different options. And look, from my perspective, all I needed was enough money to be able to pay for security to keep my family safe.

The pair have now secured substantial deals with both Netflix and Spotify, and have signed up for lucrative speaking agency Harry Walker.

When Hanson was reminded of the big-money deals, said to be worth around $1.3 million (£900k), she said: I am aware of them.

The campaign page is now inactive and produces an error message saying, Campaign Not Found.
